Santa Fe, New Mexico (KRQE) – One died and the other injured after a prop gun misfired on the set of the Western movie “Last” starring Alec Baldwin.

After the 911 dispatcher received a call from someone shot on the set, the agent responded Thursday afternoon to Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

According to the sheriff’s office, one of the 42-year-old women was airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital and later injured and died. Another crew member, a 42-year-old man, was injured in a shooting and was taken to Santa Fe Hospital for emergency treatment.

Sheriff spokesman Juan Rios told the Albuquerque Journal, “According to investigators, the scene was shot using prop firearms during discharge.” “Detectives are investigating what kind of projectile was fired.”

Lawmakers taped the closed set of churches and production was stopped.

I didn’t immediately know who shot the gun.

Written by Joel Sousa, “Rust” also features Travis Fimmel, Brady Noon, Frances Fisher and Jensen Ackles.

It follows the story of a notorious outlaw played by Baldwin, who fled with his 13-year-old grandson after the boy was hanged for the accidental killing of a local rancher.
