KOIN, Oregon — One was hospitalized after a shooting and short police chase in Southeast Portland.
Immediately after 1 am on Tuesday, police officers on patrol reportedly heard bullets fired near Southeast 74th Avenue and Southeast Woodstock Street. When police began investigating the area, they came across a car they believed they might have been involved in. The car ran away from the scene as the police tried to stop it.
After a brief chase, the suspect’s car was pulled near Southeast 100th Avenue and Southeast Henry Street. Then four guys came out and bolted it.
Police arrested two men, but the other two rushed into the neighborhood and were not found. The officer later searched the area and recovered the gun.
According to police, one of the detainees was shot dead in a previous case. He was sent to the hospital by ambulance for a life-threatening injury.
The other individual detained was 18-year-old Tabon M. Wilson. He is currently faced with attempts to escape (vehicles), reckless driving, and the crime of recklessly endangering others.
Returning to the first crime scene, a total of 24 cartridge casings were found. At least one vehicle was hit by the bullet. No other injuries have been reported.
