Las Vegas (KTNV) — A protest took place throughout the city of Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon.
Over 1000 people have gathered to push back coronavirus-related orders.
“Someone can make a decision for ourselves, not for us,” said Melissa Brown, who participated in the protest.
Many of the attendees said they were not against the vaccinated people, but against forced vaccination.
“We just want to emphasize that it’s freedom of choice,” said Lysai Smith.
“It doesn’t matter if you want to get the vaccine, that’s the principle,” says Felicia Patterson.
Patterson said he recently quit his job at the Disney Company due to his vaccination obligations.
Nationally, authorities report that the majority of coronavirus hospitalizations are unvaccinated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the COVID-19 vaccine is effective in helping protect against the severe illness and death caused by the virus.
Nevertheless, many say it’s about having the right to choose.
“I think a lot of people want to be able to make their own choices,” Brown said.
“I’m not an anti-vaccine. I probably had more vaccines than the average person. I agree,” Patterson said.
