Kingsburg, Calif. (KFSN)-A 12-year-old Kingsburg boy was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to school, a Fresno County lawmaker said.

The boy was booked with a juvenile training school for the felony of being a minor carrying a loaded firearm, a gun on the school campus, and a gun and ammunition.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Clay Elementary School managers found a gun in a boy’s backpack and called authorities on Thursday.

An agent arrived and found it to be a 25 caliber pistol loaded with 6 bullets.

According to the sheriff’s office, school officials told the agent that the boy had a gun in his backpack and intended to shoot the teacher.

According to the sheriff’s office, the boy was angry with his teacher for punishing him the day after he was caught hitting another student.

Lawmakers still don’t know how the boy got the gun. They are investigating the case.
