SHYNE AWARDS FOUNDATION On August 8th, the 12th “SHYNE” Award was announced at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty, celebrating the positive achievements of young adults in the Pittsburgh region. The Shyne Awards Foundation, a non-profit organization that recognizes the positive achievements of teens, hosted the signature event, The Shyne Awards, the premier national awards ceremony to celebrate the positive achievements of young people aged 13-19. Sunday, August 8th at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty.

Young adults between the ages of 13 and 19 have been recognized for their achievements in arts, academia, community services, entrepreneurship, ministry service, science, overcoming obstacles, leadership, STEM, or participation in youth groups. .. The annual awards ceremony included guest appearances and entertainment by local celebrities.

Since its inception in 2007, the Shyne Awards have received over 600 nominations from individuals in and around Pittsburgh for the positive action of emerging young leaders. Recommendations can be submitted by parents, coaches, educators, mentors, clergy, or associates. Recommendations will resume in September 2021.

Over the years, the Shyne Awards team and community partners have worked diligently to fulfill their mission to uplift young adults, with remarkable results for hundreds of teens and their families.
