(Meredith) – A 15-year-old girl from Bolingbrook, Illinois, near Chicago, died of COVID-19 just two days after a virus-positive test.
Dikota Morgan was a freshman at Boringbrook High School. Her mother, Crystal Morgan, said her daughter woke up on Sunday with dizziness, weakness and a cough. She was also tired and had a fever.
Crystal was worried that Dikota might be infected with COVID-19, so he was tested on Sunday with a positive result.
By Monday she was hospitalized. She died at 3 am on Tuesday. Dikota turned 15 just two weeks before he died.
According to Crystal, her daughter has been complaining of headaches for the past two weeks, but has no existing symptoms.
“She was perfectly healthy, and she got a COVID, which took her,” Dikota’s father, Rashad Bingham, told WGN.
Dikota’s parents now want people to know that COVID-19 isn’t gone and that it can actually harm children and teens.
