Jackson County, Missouri (KCTV)-KCK’s 16-year-old boy was charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting at KCMO in October.
According to the Jackson County Public Prosecutor’s Office, Jabon G. Hunter was charged with a second murder, illegal use of weapons, and two armed criminal proceedings.
The family court has found him to stand in court as an adult, the release from the public prosecutor’s office said.
The 153rd fatal shooting in which a hunter was charged in connection with this was the 153rd occurrence at KCMO in 2020, setting a record in 1993.
According to court records, KCPD police officers went to block 4400 on Tracy Avenue after receiving a call about the shooting.
Then they arrived, they found Cristobal Gutierrez-Castillas was shot. He later died in the hospital.
The shooting was captured in a surveillance video showing the suspect arriving in the area on a scooter.
One of the suspects, later identified as a hunter, was seen discussing with others. Then you can see him raising his gun and shooting Gutierrez Castillas.
He is then seen passing through Gutierrez Castillas’ pocket and picking up the phone before leaving with others.
The phone was later recovered and the Criminology Institute listed the hunter as a contributor to the DNA found on it.
Prosecutor Requested a $ 150,000 cash bond.
