Las Vegas (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department provided updates on Thursday night about murders involving 18-year-old Alonzo Brown in multiple murders.

According to police, the first murder was on May 4th and the second murder was on June 23rd, both near 5300 blocks on Tropicana Avenue.

LVMPD captain Dori Koren says similar style weapons, suspect descriptions, and proximity areas alerted them, but the fact that the killings seemed random made them activate a serious criminal operation. .. He says the man seemed to randomly stop the victims and then shoot them.

During the next 72 hours, Koren states that there was a major canvas in the area, “the area was flooded with police.”

They identified Alonzo “AJ” Brown as a suspect and linked him to a third shooting where no one was attacked. They detained Brown after pursuit.

Koren said he had two guns when Brown was arrested. He took the initiative and praised the policeman who defeated Brown, despite the true possibility of his arming. Multiple departments and dozens of officers were involved in closing the case.

“In my view, these murders are very disturbing,” Koren said. “There is no escape from murder in Las Vegas.” He quoted a higher murder resolution rate than the national average in Las Vegas.

Koren says there is no reason to believe that anyone else is at risk at this time.
