Portland, Oregon (KOIN) -Beaverton police said on Tuesday that a teenage driver involved in a Tualatin Valley Highway clash collided with a car carrying four other Southridge students in a deputy police car. He announced that he would remain hospitalized after the accident.

Police are continuing to investigate the fatal accident on April 27, during which time Nissan Altima, with five students, emitted a red light on the SWTV Highway and SW Murray Bullbird.

Two of the teens16-year-old Juan Pacheco Aguilera and 17-year-old Matthew Amaya died on the scene.

On Tuesday, officials revealed that the Nissan driver was 18 years old from Tigard, who is being treated at the hospital. The driver has not been publicly identified.
