Fresno, Calif. (KFSN)-Police arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed his mother’s boyfriend in an apartment complex in central eastern Fresno.

Police officers responded Thursday morning to land at Francher Creek’s apartments on Clay Avenue and Peach Avenue.

Investigators say the suspect quarreled with his mother’s 52-year-old boyfriend and shot him in his stomach.

Victims are expected to be taken to hospital and survive.

The 19-year-old escaped from the scene after the shooting. Police tracked him to an area near the canal south of McKinley Avenue near Chestnut.

He was hiding in some bushes and eventually surrendered to the police.

The elementary school opposite the housing complex was not affected by the survey.
