Jackson, NC (WSPA) – Two people were arrested Wednesday morning in a shooting that injured one in Jackson County.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place on Big Ridge Road in the Glenn Bijl community.
Lawmakers said the victims were shot in the foot and taken to a mission hospital. Victims are seriously injured and remain in the hospital, but are not life-threatening.
Investigators said they were able to identify the suspect and the co-conspirator who helped the suspect leave the scene.
The sheriff’s office said both were arrested after returning to the shooting site at different times.
28-year-old Christian Ryan Summons was charged with assault with a deadly weapon that could cause serious injuries, and 33-year-old Felicia Fay Coggins was charged with subsequent accessories.
Jackson County lawmakers said the shooting investigation was ongoing and more charges could be filed.
