Kansas City, Missouri — The Kansas City Fire Department has killed two people in a house fire in the area of 45th Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.
A crew member was called into the house around 5:40 am on Friday after a neighbor reported that the house was smoking.
When the fire department arrived, they saw smoke and fire coming out of the house.
Firefighters immediately entered the house through the front door and one firefighter fell off the floor. He suffered minor burns and was treated.
Emergency audio captured by Broadcastify describes a firefighter’s encounter in a burning house.
You can hear the firefighters saying, “Don’t go to the right. There is a hole in the floor.”
“I advise all the units. There are holes in the floor, there are holes in the floor,” another voice said.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters found the bodies of male and female victims.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
