Hialeah, Florida (AP) — Police said a shooting outside a banquet hall in South Florida killed two people and injured 20-25.

Police told media outlets that the shooting occurred early Sunday morning at El Mura Banquet Hall in northwestern Miami-Dade County.

The banquet hall was reserved as a concert venue. Police officer Alfred “Freddy” Ramirez III said the three had stepped out of the SUV and fired at an outdoor crowd with assault rifles and pistols. Authorities believe the shooting was targeted.

“These are cold-blooded murderers who shoot indiscriminately at the crowd, and we seek justice,” Ramirez said in a tweet.

Two people were killed on the spot, police said. As many as 25 people went to various hospitals for treatment.

The arrest was not announced immediately.

“This is a sneaky and timid act of gun violence,” Ramirez told the Miami Herald.

“We have to stop this kind of gun violence. Every weekend, it’s the same,” Ramirez said at an early morning press conference.

Governor Ron DeSantis commented on the shooting on Twitter.

“We mourn the deaths of two victims and pray for the recovery of more than 20 injured at the El Mura Banquet Hall near Hialeah. We work with local authorities to bring justice to the perpetrators. We are working together. Justice must be swift and strict! ”Desantis tweeted.

Marcus Lemonis, a businessman and television personality who is a star of The Profit, joined Twitter to provide a $ 100,000 reward to help authorities arrest the suspect. ..

Gun violence heralded the arrival of Memorial Day weekend in South Florida, with dozens of bullets fired outside another rally in Miami’s Winwood district. A late Friday shooting killed one person. Six people were injured.
