Mesa, Arizona (AP) — Police in Mesa say two students were arrested for making false threats at their high school.
They claim that a 14-year-old girl attending Red Mountain High claimed to have an explosive device in her backpack on Friday morning. After the student was contacted, police say she admitted to compensating for the threat. She was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor threats.
In another case on Friday, Mesa police arrested a teenage boy attending Dobson High School. Investigators say a 15-year-old boy posted a threat on social media, which led to the blockade of Dobson. The boy was arrested for threatening minor crimes and felony interference with the educational facility or disruption of the educational facility.
