2021 Bronco Sport or 1993 Bronco?

Ford recently released a press release about 2021 Bronco.. It’s about cross-subsidization switches that we already knew, such as the rated current of each circuit and what they could do (probably a light, probably an overhead loudspeaker, probably not a fog machine). Included fascinating new details.

Obviously, Ford has run out of what he says about Bronco until he actually starts making Bronco. Now, let’s turn the hungry heart of Bronco to the two Bronco that actually exist. 2021 Bronco Sports Outer Banks and the 1993 Bronco Eddie Bauer … Diesel. Which of these do you want to drive?

The old Bronco is mine, but if you like Bronco sports, it won’t hurt me. I can’t claim objectivity when I already voted in the throat in 1993 to borrow terms from the battle of my favorite local brewery. However, sports often recommend it, even if it contains minor trouble-prone items such as airbags and rear doors. Let’s disassemble it. In contrast to disassembling, one of these is more likely to perform than the other.

The 1993 Bronco was available in two V-8s, 5.0 liters or 5.8 liters, but neither of them. In 2012, the 5.8 and 4-speed automatics were replaced with the 1995 7.3-liter powerstroke, 5-speed ZF, and manual transfer case. And I added a roll cage and removed the top more or less permanently. So this isn’t exactly the usual 1993 Bronco, but the basic taste is there. You can buy any mange driver, pry open the top, and probably have less carcinogenic and torque driving experience.

The Bronco Sport Outer Banks uses a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Badlands and First Edition models feature an additional cylinder (and 245 hp) in addition to a more robust all-wheel drive system. Both are trampled by the wateriest Bronco from 1980 to 1996, so don’t worry that the Outer Banks aren’t the best counterparts for Eddie Bauer. Other things are happening to it.

Like the interior. Not only is the seat a wonderful combination of leather and cloth, but no seat appears to have been heavily attacked by badgers at some point in 1998. The 1990s provided all the robust durability of the parchment used in the Declaration of Independence. And I realized that cruise control was working in Bronco Sports. As with all power windows, air conditioners and power locks. Also, the steering wheel seemed to actually contain an airbag. All of these are known as the “W” of sports. But if you need a rear ashtray that contains real cigarette butts from the early 2000s, you have only one option. And it lingers with Freddie Mauer.

In the very important category of spare tires, I’m worried that sports will have to make concessions again. It’s commendable that a spare tire (labeled “spare tire” on the sidewall) is actually included instead of a can of tire inflation goops, but that stupid underfloor donut was 1993. Incomparable to the year’s powerful spare tire setup. The full-size Goodyear Dura Truck Spare, size 31 x 10.5, proudly hangs on a swingaway tailgate carrier and rides on a matching forged aluminum rim I got on eBay or something. These setups often feature a spare tire cover adorned with the Bronco logo, a stylized eagle, or a beloved cartoon camp Calvin peeing with a K5 blazer, but with wheels. When it comes to matching tire combinations, I think it’s just a show-off. There is no cover here.

What is it, a big rubber hat? ah I see. It is a spare tire.

Yeah, these are three lock lug nuts, so don’t try to steal this baby unless you have the key that everyone has.

On the highway, I admit that the Bronco Sport offers a little more politeness than the 1993 Bronco. Ford’s twin traction beam front suspension wasn’t the last word of a consistent camber, and the 7.3 powerstroke isn’t known for its quiet attitude. The giant bus engine is a little quieter when the four gallons of oil used to power the fuel injectors reach operating temperature, but it’s still rattling all the time. Sports that also use direct injection are quiet and smooth. When 1993 is on the most aggressive fuel map (there’s a TS Performance 6-position chip controlled by a chunky knob protruding from the dash), the passing forces seem to be about equal, and whether it’s approved or not. I don’t know the prosecution of either vehicle. However, both are reasonably strong, ranging from 50 mph to 70 mph. The difference is that towing a small house doesn’t change much for Eddie Bauer. In stock, it produced 215 horsepower and 425 lb-ft torque. When I dyno it, it made 235 horsepower on the wheels. They didn’t get torque, but do I calculate the mid-500s? That’s a lot.

The Bronco Sport Outer Banks starts at $ 34,460 and includes a $ 645 “acquisition fee” not listed on the window sticker, but Ford seems to be working on it all these days. Large bronco can certainly cost much cheaper, the same or more. I dont know. Ten years ago, these were uniformly cheap, but now we are introducing Bring-a-Trailered into outer space. It all depends on the state. All I say is get some problems and fix them. It’s an old truck. Nothing is so expensive. The door handle broke in my hand, so I ordered a new one and it was $ 6. I wanted to replace the heater core, but it took an hour for $ 20. The old Bronco is literally a close relative of the F-150, the country’s most common vehicle, so it’s not difficult to get parts. In addition, while the old Bronco appreciates it, Bronco Sports begins a tragic depreciation trajectory in the first minute of the 2021 Bronco hit the streets.

But you are not participating in this for money. You are in it for the love of Bronco, not Bronco in 2021. If you have a dog, you’re in it because you want your head to stick out of the back window. I want to drive a car labeled “Bronco” more than once. So who did you get?
