2021 Ford Explorer adds enthusiastic ST trim to increase hybrid availability

Ford Adding some new trim variants along the way Explorer 2021 model.. The most intriguing is the budget-oriented “Enthusiast ST” model, but there are also rear-wheel drive platinum and platinum hybrids along the way.

I’ve never seen the Enthusiast ST Monica used in previous ST models.Ford invented it for Adventurer Seeing demand for sporty models rising more than expected, Blue Oval states that ST accounts for “about 20% of sales.” Given that ST is the second most expensive model in the lineup (tracking platinum only for less than $ 2,000), it’s an impressive statistic. Enthusiast ST hopes to attract more buyers by lowering the entry ST price from $ 4,080 to $ 49,995.

Thankfully, the best part of ST sticks for enthusiastic ST. It features the same powertrain, including a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that produces 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft torque. All machines are carryover. That is, the enthusiastic ST has to drive and handle Exactly the same as normal ST.. It looks exactly the same (seen in red above), as Ford guarantees that the onlookers don’t know that you bought the “cheap”.

But what do you lose? The main items lost are many of those found in Ford’s 401A equipment package. No more 12-speaker B & O audio system, heated second row, 360 degree camera, navigation, wireless charging pad. Ford didn’t elaborate everything in its announcement, but we asked for a more detailed list of all device differences.

In addition to enthusiast ST News, Ford is lowering entry costs for standard platinum models. Previously it was only available in the all-wheel drive format, but now it’s a platinum rear-wheel drive model. Ford cites areas where all-wheel drive is not needed as the main driving force for providing a fully equipped model without powering all four wheels. The base price is down $ 2,000 and you’re still looking at the $ 53,725 Explorer Platinum.

The last bit of news concern Hybrid model.. It was tied to a limited trim only before today, but now Ford is adding a platinum hybrid trim. That means you can get the most luxurious and decadent equipment in addition to being better Fuel economy, This is mutually beneficial in our book. Platinum hybrids start at $ 54,330 and are $ 1,395 cheaper than all-wheel drive gas-only platinum.

Ford says all three models are available for order today. They will start arriving dealer This summer.
