2021 GMC Terrain Pricing and Expert Review

What kind of car is the 2021 GMC Terrain? What is it compared to?

The 2020 GMC Terrain is a five-seater crossover SUV that sits under Acadia in its brand lineup. Styled and deployed as a family wagon rather than an off-road specialist, it can be equipped with all-wheel drive. Compared with Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Honda CR-V, etc.

Is the 2021 GMC Terrain a good car?

That is certainly above average. It has a TCC rating of 6.5 out of 10 (see details on how to rate a car).

What’s new in the 2021 GMC Terrain?

Terrain adds a standard blind spot monitor for the 2021 model. Otherwise, it will be carried over to SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali editions. The promised AT4 edition has not yet been officially added.

The terrain has a sleek, contemporary look that keeps it away from the more traditional SUVs. The large grille and square headlights may suggest practicality, but the wagon’s body is handsome and tapered in the latest way. It features black-filled pillars that appear to “float” the roof, a visual trick used by brands such as Lexus and Nissan. Inside, a large touch screen and push toggle transmission controls dominate the look, with terrain denali wood grain trim and leather.

The GMC will install a 170-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo 4 or a 252-horsepower turbo 4 with torque of 203 lb-foot on the terrain. Acceleration is moderate in the former and strong and stable in the latter. Both are paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic. The front-wheel drive version can be upgraded to all-wheel drive. It’s a simple system, but the driver has to switch knobs to pull the rear wheels. The handling is crisp and the terrain road manners are clearly tuned for street driving rather than moderate trail blazing.

Terrain creates a room for 4 adults. One-fifth fits, but it doesn’t work. The foldable backseat expands the cargo space to 63.3 cubic feet behind the available power tailgates, but those second row seats do not fold perfectly flat.

Crash test scores are good, Terrain has standard automatic emergency braking, and options for adaptive cruise control and surround view camera system.

How much does the 2021 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices range from about $ 27,000 for base trim to over $ 40,000 for Denali. 7.0-inch touch screen with basic Terrain Sportpower features, 17-inch wheels, keyless ignition, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Denalis gets leather upholstery, a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, navigation, and 19-inch wheels.

Where is the GMC Terrain made?

In Mexico.
