This is the first pride event in Pittsburgh, co-sponsored by several LGBTQ + organizations in the city and western Pennsylvania.
The 2021 festival will be a mix of face-to-face and virtual events.
Saturday will be the annual parade.
The Pittsburgh Pride Revolution March departs from Downtown City County Building at noon on Saturday, June 5th. Then follow Grant Street, turn left at Six Avenue, follow Seventh Street and Andy Warhol Bridge, through Allegheny Center and into Allegheny Commons Park West.
According to the organizers, “We will march together as a community to support the LGBTQ and QTPOC communities. Bring signs, banners, music, flags, face masks and hand sanitizers.”
Upon arriving at the park, the “Pittsburgh Pride Mini Festival” begins and lasts until 6 pm.
Organizers say there are food trucks, music and performances, and organizational booths. Participation is free.
Then, on Saturday at 5 pm, the Rocky Horror Picture Show will be sung at West Park.
On Sunday, the virtual Pittsburgh Pride Revolution Show will take place on Zoom. It will also be exhibited at Trace Brewing. The second day of the mini-festival will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm.
It’s also generally free.
The second day of the festival will include 30 different acts featuring local, national and international performers. There are also face painting, food trucks, dance and drag queen story times.
A small closing ceremony will be held around 9:30 pm.
They require everyone planning to attend direct events to disinfect their hands and bring a mask to those events.
