Greenwood CO. , SC (WSPA) – A second driver was killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles involving a van from the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Greenwood County.
According to the Greenwood County Coroners Office, 24-year-old Jonathan Matthew Titus was injured and died at the Spartanberg Medical Center on Friday morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Thursday at around 6:17 am at US178 near Scotts Ferry Road.
The Troopers said the car driver crossed the centerline and hit the SCDOT van head-on.
The SCDOT van driver – McCormick’s 59-year-old Charles Barry Kennedy – died on the scene.
Two passengers in the van heading to the work site during the collision were taken to the hospital due to injury.
The Highway Patrol Interdisciplinary Accident Investigation Team assists in investigating shipwrecks.
