3 Albuquerque High School students accepted into prestigious universities – Albuquerque, New Mexico

“I enrolled at Yale University, Harvard University, and Stanford University,” she said.

Nena and Kaiden haven’t decided where to go.

But their classmate, Agustin Leon Sentz, completed his plan.

“I’m planning to attend Harvard University in the fall,” he said.

Agustin said he is considering research in environmental engineering and public policy.

Kaiden also plans to learn about the field of engineering.

“Now I want to work like the aerospace field of biomedicine,” he said.

Nena, a drum major and captain of the tennis team, has a different passion.

“I want to major in urban studies and architecture,” she said.

“Being a citizen of Navajo Nation, I’m more interested in how indigenous communities are affected in different cities and their demographics,” she added.

All three students come from different backgrounds.

“As a Latino immigrant from Ecuador, I have a special background and I believe it helps to empathize with so many members of the community, especially because of the impact of inequality,” Agustin said. Mr. says.

“Like larger high schools, going to these gives us the opportunity to have a platform to influence all over the country and around the world,” Kaiden said.

As Kaiden, Agustin, and Nena prepare to leave New Mexico, they say they will not forget their calculus teacher Jimmy Phillips.

“I miss all the teachers at Albuquerque High School, especially Jimmy Phillips,” Agustin said. “He was such a role model and inspired me.”

“He always encouraged us,” Nina said.

“He is very proud of his students,” added Caiden.

All three New Mexico students say they are ready for the next chapter.

“It’s great because we’ve experienced all this experience together, and it’s like seeing all of us accomplish it on the other side, so strong, and together, very exciting. “Kaiden said.
