3 Ashtabula County bars cited for violating state COVID-19 orders – Cleveland, Ohio

Columbus (WJW) —Last night, three Ohio bars were found to violate health orders in various states. Ohio Survey Unit report.

Despite the curfew being lifted, other health orders, such as wearing masks and proper social distance, are still in place.

There are 3 bars in all Ashtabura The sports cited after being observed in the county, and reported violations by the Ohio Investigation Unit are:

Austinburg Corner Bar: The agent arrived at the facility around 10:30 pm on Friday and found a customer who was not socially separated. At the bar, we saw patrons standing right behind the person sitting at the top of the bar ordering drinks. According to agents, there were no physical barriers between the groups and many in the facility did not wear masks. The bar was quoted for improper conduct, chaotic activity. This is the second time the bar has been quoted since the pandemic began.

Ashtabura rare cherry: The agent found people standing together while consuming alcohol in this bar around 11:40 pm. There were no physical barriers. This bar was also cited for improper conduct, or chaotic activity.

Ashtabura’s Nave Lounge & Entertainment: People are not wearing masks, but it has been observed that they are not too far apart, the agent said. Agents arriving at the scene around 12:10 am said people were drinking alcohol throughout the facility without barriers or social distance. This bar was also cited for improper conduct, or chaotic activity.

These proceedings are reviewed by the Ohio Liquor Commission and include the possibility of fines and suspension of liquor permits.
