A special grand jury in Virginia charged three people with one murder and more than 80 other charges in connection with the killing and dismantling of a 20-year-old man in February.
Bronwin C. Meeks, 22; Domonic Samuels, 19; Brennan E. Thomas, 19, has already been imprisoned on charges related to Dylan Wetzel’s death. But until Monday, no one had been charged with murder, Fredericksburg’s freelance star reported.
The three were charged on Monday with one murder, concealment of the corpse, and twelve shootings during a felony mandate.
Meeks has also been charged with four charges of asking others to act as accessories after the murder and two charges of intimidating witnesses in writing.
Authorities were warned by Thomas’ grandfather about Wetzel’s body, according to evidence presented at a preliminary hearing last month. The grandfather said he saw his grandson and another young man leave the forest that night.
Wetzel’s body was found on February 1 in a garbage bag on two roads in western Spotsylvania County. Officials said he was shot and killed in the head before being dismantled with an ax.
