Miami (AP) — Prosecutors say three Miami Beach police officers are facing felony charges associated with the rough arrest of two men at a South Beach hotel.
The Miami-Dade County Prosecutor’s Office initially charged five police officers with a misdemeanor battery charge in August.
On Thursday, state lawyer Katherine Fernandez Randall announced upgraded rates for Officer Kevin Perez and Sgt. Jose Perez.
They are charged with a three-time felony battery.
Officer Javier Serrano has been charged with three felony official offenses.
according to Associated Press, Serrano and executives, Robert Sabutter and David Rivas are facing a misdemeanor battery charge.
Randall will be prosecuted by a judge next week, AP reported.

AP reported that 28-year-old Khalid Vaughn recorded Crudup’s arrest on his cell phone from about 12 feet away.
