Investigators at the Honolulu Medical Inspector’s Office said today that the agency was still informing close relatives and could not identify the 69-year-old victim.
However, locals described the victim as a friendly and intelligent man. He always greeted and waved to his neighbor.
“He was the best man,” said a neighbor who didn’t reveal his name. Residents often observed him sitting in a lawn chair in the carport of his house.
The victim lived in a half-baked house for about three years.
Neighbors pointed out that the suspect had behaved strangely within the past month. He said he was farther away.
“He was staring a lot. Usually he would say” good morning. ” “
Another neighbor said he was shocked to hear the suspect fatally stabbed the victim when he regularly saw him sitting with him in the carport.
