La Plata County, Colorado — A wildfire in La Plata County has evacuated homes in the area.

La Plata County officials said the Bosberg Pike fire was between County Highway 502 and County Highway 228.

Houses were evacuated within a 0.5 mile radius of the closed county road 228.

Houses within a 2 mile radius have been evacuated in advance.

The county has set up shelters on 216 highway 172 at Florida Mesa Elementary School.

The fire was first reported at Usagiyama, a property of the Land Management Department.

The Durango and Upper Pine fire areas are on-site, with several aircraft working on approximately 40 acres of fire.
