July 4th is approaching. Is there a better way to celebrate it than to watch fireworks or attend a festival in Central California?

This is a list of events in the Central Valley until July 4th. We will continue to update this list as we learn more about the events.

Saturday, July 2

Shaver Lake Fireworks

Free family event at 5,500 feet. Fireworks are shot from Honeymoon Island in the dark from 8 pm to 8:30 pm. You can see fireworks when you look at the view of the island. Road 2, Camp Edison, and the boat ride are stunning scenic areas. Plan to get there early. Put on comfortable shoes and be prepared for the possibility of parking far away. The boat parade starts at 6 pm. Meet outside the Sierra Marina buoy on a decorated boat.click here For more information.

Kingsburg Independence Day Celebration

Celebration of Selma’s 32nd Independence Day

Food, children’s games, music, fireworks. Entertainment by David Aguallo Band. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Ice chests and eating out are not allowed. The gate opens at 5:30 pm and the fireworks start around 9:25 pm. Admission is $ 5 for adults, $ 2 for children 5-12 years old, and free for children under 4 years old.click here For more information.

Parking tickets are currently on sale. The festival will showcase a variety of local vendors, spray zones and stunning exhibits of fireworks. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair and enjoy a summer night with friends and family. The gate opens at 5 pm and the fireworks show starts at 9 pm. Passes can be purchased at Parks and Leisure Services Office, 15 E. Therman Avenue, Suite A.
