The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Health departments across the country have been monitoring cases of children under the age of 10 since October 2021.
On May 6, about 20 states reported suspicious cases after the CDC called on doctors to pay attention to cases of astonishing hepatitis.
CDPHE As of May 12, he said there were five cases that met the CDC criteria. Four of these cases were identified by CDPHE on May 6.
Symptoms of hepatitis or liver inflammation include fever, malaise, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, light-colored stools, joint pain, and jaundice.
The CDC is still investigating what is causing unknown hepatitis in children.
