New York (AP) — The fifth Major League Baseball team was able to mitigate the coronavirus protocol after 85% of players and other field personnel completed vaccination.
The Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Players Association announced on Friday without identifying teams, with seven more teams reaching the 85% level of final doses and protocol within two weeks of being fully vaccinated. He said it could be mitigated.
The New York Yankees and Detroit said they were able to relax the protocol last weekend, and Milwaukee said they were able to relax the protocol earlier this week. Relaxed protocols include removing the requirements for dugouts and bullpen face masks, and relaxing travel restrictions during road trips.
MLB said on Friday that more than 83% of all Tier 1 individuals, including athletes, managers, coaches, athletic trainers and support personnel, were partially or completely vaccinated from 81% on April 30.
There were no positive results in 10,330 monitoring tests last week, with a positive rate of 0.009% once for staff at an alternative training site.
So far this season, of the 145,647 samples tested, there are 44 positive tests (27 players and 17 staff) with a positive rate of 0.03%. There are 21 teams with positive tests.
