America’s love for pickup trucks hasn’t ended for a long time, and for good reason.
Modern full-size pickup trucks are more capable, efficient, comfortable and technologically advanced than ever before. They really have become a shop choice in the automobile world. So when a brand new pickup debuts, it’s a big deal.

Built in San Antonio, the new Tundra was styled by Toyota’s North American design studio, Carti. The exterior of the tundra, a true homemade American truck, is carved to exude power and function. It features angular lines, accented flared fenders and an impressive front grille, emphasizing the concept of toughness.
The tundra’s “Technical Muscle” design theme is accentuated by a huge 14-inch touchscreen integrated into the dashboard and continues throughout the interior. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with a national park display is also available at startup.
If the standard Tundra look isn’t enough, of course, there’s a more extreme TRD Pro version with a 1.1-inch front suspension lift that complements the FOX’s internal bypass shock. TRD Pro also includes an aluminum front skid plate, red suspension components and unique Falken all-terrain tires.
2. It’s completely possible
Underneath the bodywork is a solid foundation thanks to the new full-box high-strength steel ladder frame. The new Tundra also takes a modernized approach to the rear suspension and throws away the leaf springs for the coils in a brand new multilink setup. This not only improves handling, but also improves the ability of the tundra to tow up to 12,000 pounds and carry a payload of up to 1,940 pounds.
On the payload topic, Toyota engineers have developed a sheet molded compound truck bed. SMC beds are as durable as traditional beds, but Toyota even claims that it avoids rust like steel beds and doesn’t dent as easily as steel or aluminum.
3. Powerful new engine
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the truck is the new drivetrain. V8 is gone and replaced by newer options. Standard is the i-FORCE 3.5L Twin Turbo V6, which produces 389 hp and combines 479lb-ft of torque with the new 10-speed automatic transmission. But for those looking for more power and better efficiency, there is an i-FORCEMAX twin-turbo hybrid V6 available that produces 437 hp and 583 lb-foot. Of torque. Additional hybrid power comes from the motor generator sandwiched between the engine and transmission.
Because heat is one of the greatest stresses on engines, especially such twin turbocharged engines, Toyota engineers have advanced cooling of the combustion chamber, exhaust system and cylinder head to ensure performance and reliability. Designed the function.

Toyota has improved the safety system of the new Tundra. It provides the brand’s active Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 standard at all trim levels. It is equipped with a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and automatically brakes to avoid collisions. It has many features such as lane trace assist that automatically adjusts the steering wheel to keep the track between lines, dynamic radar cruise control, rear cross traffic alerts, road sign assist, blind spot monitoring and much more. The latter also works when towing a trailer.
