The Michelin Guide on Thursday gave four DC restaurants one star and one two stars.

Five restaurants in Washington, DC have been starred for the first time by the Michelin Guide.

The· Thursday guide Honored 4 restaurants with 1 star and 2 stars.

1-star restaurant:

  • A crane at 7249th St. NW in Chinatown, which Michelin described as a “Spanish Kaiseki” restaurant under Chef Pepe Moncayo.
  • A tasting menu inspired by Chef Juan Manuel Varientos’ hometown of Colombia, near Elcielo DC, 1280 4th St. NE, Union Market.
  • “A modern menu of global influence from Asia to Europe and everywhere in between” by Rooster & Owl, 2436 14th St. NW, Columbia Heights, Carey and Yuan Tang.
  • A menu focused on the Valencia region of Spain by Xiquet, 2404 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Glover Park and chef Danny Lledó.

14th St in 1906, just south of U Street. At NW, John was awarded two stars for a “creative, bold and beautiful” menu by chef Ryan Latino. Ratino also runs the 1-star restaurant Breska, downstairs in Jônt.
