Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — “It makes Tucson ugly,” said Meg Johnson, a resident of Tucson.

New 35-foot 5G towers are emerging throughout the city to bring 5G internet speeds to Tucson. However, some of these towers end up right in front of the house.

Carol Knowles said, “I said why you put it right in front of my house,” from the first time I saw the construction of the tower in front of my house.

She wasn’t warned that a tower would be built in front of her house. Now she is worried that it will affect the amount of money she can sell her home.

“The next time we pay property taxes, we will demand a tax cut,” Knowles said. “I don’t like this big one from my house.”

Lucas Gebregziabher, who lives in the Brenmann-Elm district, said he hopes it fits better in the neighborhood.

“In such a nice neighborhood, I know at least do something to keep it from getting too ugly.”

City council members are currently discussing the possibility of building a new 5G tower on top of existing infrastructure such as TEP power lines. If it is not there, easements and alleys are built in.
