The National Weather Service confirmed that six tornadoes struck the Pittsburgh area on Thursday night, one in Butler County, two in Allegheny County, and three in Washington County. One tornado was confirmed near Mount Nebo near Mile Marker 11 on I-279. In a preliminary report, the National Meteorological Service said on Friday that it was EF-0. The glass on the door of Mt. Nebo Target store shattered in a storm. See the video below. Another tornado identified in Allegheny County was in Hampton Township along Linden Drive. According to a preliminary report from the National Weather Service, it was an EF-1 tornado with an initial maximum wind speed of 100 mph. See the video below. In Washington County, there were reports of damage to Willow Road and Raleigh Lane. A tornado was identified east of West Finley, Washington County. In a preliminary report, the National Meteorological Service said on Friday that it was EF-1. Tornadoes have also been identified in Peters Township and Hopewell Township. The National Meteorological Service said it would go to both locations on Saturday to investigate the damage.
