The organization Driven2 Make Change has set up an event for Arianna, who is 6 years old. The dream was to meet Santa Claus and celebrate Christmas with his family.
According to the family, Ariana’s diagnosis is that she may not be there this holiday season.
The organizers decided that this was unacceptable, so Ariana made a suitable celebration at Woodward Park tonight.
The first local responders also attended the festival and appeared with fire trucks and some police patrol vehicles.
“Despite the pandemic, we can’t miss a vacation,” says Ronnie Duval. “We need to celebrate being humble and accustomed to staying sane.”
Ariana was diagnosed with a brain tumor called diffuse intrinsic bridge glioma (DIPG) on July 20. This has a life expectancy of 6-9 months after diagnosis.
She has two younger sisters, one and two years old.
