Lexington, Kentucky (LEX 18) —Wednesday, Governor Andy Beshear announced that 747 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After removing the duplicates, the new case of 747 will add up the Kentucky COVID-19 cases to ().

The positive rate on Wednesday is 3.11%.

Governor Bescher also announced nine new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Kentucky to 6,485.

As of Wednesday, 434 Kentuckies were hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, of which 119 were in the ICU and 59 were on ventilators.

Vaccine renewal

As of Wednesday, 1,742,037 Kentucky citizens have been vaccinated with at least the first COVID-19 vaccine.
