Columbus, Ohio (AP) —Explosions and fires at a manufacturing plant in Ohio injured eight people and left one missing, officials said.
The explosion broke out at the Yenkin Majestic Paint facility in Columbus at around 12:05 am, causing a fire, Columbus fire brigade commander Steve Martin told reporters.
Some of the injured were able to leave the factory, but others were rescued before being taken to the hospital, officials said. According to Martin, the two initially listed as dangerous have been upgraded to stable.
At the beginning of Thursday, the crew searched the site and worked to extinguish the fire. Several nearby companies have evacuated.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
