Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) —The majority of older people in Arizona are fully vaccinated with COVID-19, state health official data show.
According to the latest figures from the Arizona Department of Health, 83.2% of Arizona people aged 65 and over are vaccinated, and 64.3% of people aged 55-64 are vaccinated. In Pima County, these numbers are even higher, at 88.7% for people aged 65 and over and 67.9% for people aged 55-64.
Overall, about 43.6% of Arizona’s population is fully vaccinated.
The news comes when demand declines and daily immunization rates begin to decline. At a press conference Friday afternoon, Dr. Kara Christ said the state plans to reduce mass vaccination sites and focus vaccine efforts on clinics, clinics and pharmacies.
