Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) —Metro police have identified a man in Nashville who died in a collision at the intersection of Highway 70 and Macroley Lane.
The crash occurred around 12:30 pm on Thursday. According to police, 90-year-old Charles Spargin Sr. died in a crash.

According to preliminary research, Spargin, who was driving a 2001 Toyota RAV4, tried to turn left from Highway 70 to Macroley Lane when he collided with the 1996 Chevrolet Impala, which was traveling north at the age of 72.
The Impala driver hit the passenger side of Spargin’s car. Spagin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transferred to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and died. Impala’s 72-year-old driver was wearing a seatbelt and was being treated for a life-threatening injury.
Investigators say the Impala driver seemed to have the right to give way before the crash. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement in the field.
