In this Sandy Springs house, the empty bay window has been transformed into a custom chaise lounge. This is a cozy place for a family of five to enjoy a meal or do homework.

Familiar space planning
Interior designer Whit Kneader Lamb This chaise longue is designed to fit into the existing angle of the window. As a bonus, the kitchen has more space to move around. Also, the three drawers under the cushion provide additional storage space.

Certainly fake
The built-in seats are decorated with imitation leather. Easy to wipe and durable for three young children, homeowners Michael and Mary Beth Thrasher.

Pillow story
To complement the hilarious blue cushions, Durham has an assortment of brightly patterned pillows made from Hunt Thronem’s iconic “bunny hatch” fabric for Lee Jofa Groundworks. I did.

Easy on budget
Durham used this little rattan pendant on the world market sparingly, rather than a large statement lamp. This adds texture at a reasonable price. If you go without a window treatment, it will look cleaner.

The old one is also new
The family-inherited armchair was covered with geometric fabrics from Lewis and Cheron textiles. “I love mixing modern and traditional, so the mod table combined with a vintage dining chair was the perfect combination in my book,” says Durham.

Designer Tips: Pedestal-style tables make seating easier because guests and families can slide over the table without hitting the legs of the table, Durham says. This metal and wooden oval table from LexMod is also chip resistant.
