Boston (WHDH) -Bay is taking the biggest step towards returning to normal life to lift all remaining coronavirus restrictions throughout the state.
Governor Charlie Baker signed an order on Friday to officially withdraw the remaining COVID-19 restrictions in Massachusetts at 12:01 am on Saturday.
Many Boston restaurants and their patrons stayed up late to celebrate the midnight clock.
Massimo Tiberi, owner of Arya Trattoria, celebrated the end of the limit by removing the partition between the restaurant tables and adding six more seats inside the restaurant.
“I feel great,” Tiberi said. “In fact, we can provide better service to people. The rooms look good and everything is good.”
Kyle Rosa, a bar patron, said, “I know there were a lot of restrictions on people’s safety. I’ve done it to the end and everyone is looking forward to a brighter future. I’m glad. “
As of Saturday, all restrictions will be lifted, all business capacity will be increased to 100%, and collection restrictions will be lifted, Baker said.
The stadium is preparing to welcome fans at or near full capacity, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Rochel Warensky will hold the opening ceremony at Fenway Park on Saturday.
The state’s face-covering order was also lifted on Saturday, allowing fully vaccinated individuals to throw away their masks in most situations.
Face covers continue to be essential in other environments that accommodate vulnerable populations, such as public and private transportation, medical facilities, and collective medical facilities.
Some people say that regardless of the situation, they remain cautious and wear face coverings indoors.
“”[We’re] Since I work as a nurse, I still wear a mask and have seen a lot of things. You should be careful, “said a Boston resident.
Governor Baker also signed an order on Friday to lift the Massachusetts state of emergency on June 15.
