A gold “sun bowl” found near a Bronze Age swamp

Archaeologists who excavated a 3,000-year-old settlement in Austria unearthed a golden bowl in the image of the sun that decorates the underside.

“At the bottom of the bowl is a sun disk with 11 rays,” Archaeologist Michael Sip of the German company Novtus, who leads the excavation at the site, emailed Live Science.The craftsman (or craftsman) who made the bowl also included a “circular motif” [images] “Circles and dots” that decorate the outside of the bowl, Sip said.
