Hulu’s original movie, Fresh, contains all the elements of a classic horror movie, including creepy music, dim lighting, gloomy characters, and lots of gussets. In addition to the classic metaphor, it satirizes the subject of taboo: cannibalism. The dark comedy “Fresh,” starring Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar-Jones, has an eerie feel and humor throughout.
Director and screenwriter duo Mimi Cave and Lauryn Kahn were able to create a breathtaking and disturbing cinematic experience. For female viewers, the film touches on a familiar sensation, the horror of literal dating. In an interview with Hollywood ReporterKhan said, “I have this feeling that only women understand. This subconscious way we operate in the world — where we park, is our key? , It’s our friend of the speed dial. Men never think again. ”
The audience experiences the movie through the eyes of Noah (Daisy Edgar Jones), who continues a series of failed dates. Just as she’s about to give up, she hits the fascinating and fascinating Steve (Sebastian Stan). Noah and Steve quickly defeated it, and viewers are spoiled with a happy montage where they enjoy singing each other’s companies. But this isn’t rom-com, and things change quickly when Steve surprises Noah in the mountains over the weekend.
The movie actually begins here, and viewers see Noah’s best friend Molly (Jonica T. Gibbs) starting to worry about her friend. She tells Noah to proceed her cautiously and urges her to share her place and send Steve a photo in case something goes wrong. This is a reliable experience for most women. Steve is not the good man we fell into. He takes Noah to his remote home, gives her her medicine, and she wakes up in her locked room. Steve is a cannibal — a distributor of high-end human meat as well as cannibals. The rest of the movie is full of horror and bloodshed that we have promised as Steve keeps his supply “fresh”.
“Fresh” falls into the horror romance sub-genre, along with other films such as “Get Out” (2017) and “Ready or Not” (2019). In “Fresh”, the audience is taken to the world of girls for fear of being kidnapped, abused or even worse during a date. The worst scenario is that Noah’s love interest is cannibal. This movie nails the horror and horror of women’s dating when meeting new people.
This movie is not for the timid. “Fresh” is full of shots of meat preparation after carving and carving human meat. But during these horrifying scenes, Sebastian Stan can continue to captivate viewers with his charisma, humor and dance moves. His personality, reminiscent of Ted Bundy, falls easily at first and fears his abilities.
The stunning shots and the compatibility between Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar Jones only add to the appeal. Watching a movie about cannibalism has never been so fascinating. With slow dance shots, sweet love scenes, and horrific murders, “Fresh” has it all. This is not only a must-see, but also worth reaffirming.
