Boston (WHDH)-A third Boston police officer injured in the shooting was released from the hospital on Thursday after an hour of stand-off that killed a shooter in Dorchester earlier this week.

An unnamed police officer knelt down at the applause of fellow police officers and left the Boston Medical Center. A feeling of relief floated in the air as the cops gathered in front to greet fellow cops.

Larry Calderone, president of the Boston Patrolman Association, spoke with police officers when he was released. “This is a great day for the Boston department and city.”

The policeman went home with a police escort.

According to Boston police, he was the third and last police officer to be fired after a nearly six-hour standoff with a barricade on Ferndale Street on Tuesday afternoon, who fired at the police officer.

According to police, police officers fired during the incident, fatally attacking the suspect.

Investigation is ongoing.
