A jazzy nurse, some Texas country and a New Orleans trio: See our music picks for the weekend in Baton Rouge | Music – New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans, Louisiana 2021-06-10 06:00:00 –

Country, rock and jazz — a lot of live music will be heard in the Baton Rouge area this weekend.

There are two recommendations on Friday night. Betsy Broud Chorum Hall, 1024 Executive Park Ave. And that Cadden Guillard Band The Basin Music Hall, 336 3rd St.

The Broud show, announced by the Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council as part of the Jazz Listening Room series, begins at 7:30 pm. A nurse during the day and a jazz musician at night, Blaud is often referred to as a “jazz nurse.” Incorporate her profession and her side gigs into each other on a daily basis.

At her first post-pandemic concert, Broud shares the stage with musicians John Bishop, David C. Ellis and Timothy Ost.

Tickets are $ 20 bontempstix.com..

Based in southwestern Louisiana, the Cadden Guillard Band mixes Southern Rock with the best of Texas. The band’s show is set at 9pm. The cost is $ 10 at the door.

Saturday Recommendations: Andrew Duhon Trio Red Dragon Listening Room, 2401 Florida Street

Duhon is a New Orleans songwriter and has toured most of his career solo.

The trio’s first project, the 2014 album “The Moorings,” was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Participating in Duhon are upright bassist Myles Weeks and drummer Maxwell Zemanovic.

Tickets start at $ 25 PayPal.me/reddragonlr (Note that Andrews appears on the message line). The show starts at 8 pm
