Las Vegas (KLAS) — As many people turn their attention to holiday shopping after Thanksgiving, store owners encourage Las Vegan to shop locally for “Small Business Saturday.”

“We need to take care of ourselves,” Dolores Wiarco told 8 NewsNow on Friday while shopping.

She is one of many who went shopping as part of the old-fashioned American tradition.
“Black Friday” is always big, but this year many people are focusing on helping local stores as they slowly recover from the economic punch of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“They had a hard time. Many of them were unsuccessful,” Wiarco said in 2020 about small businesses.

Laura Layer, who owns the “Las Vegas Chocolate Bar” at a container park in downtown Las Vegas, told 8 News. Last year wasn’t easy.

“As a small business,” Reyer said. “You just keep moving forward, we just keep moving forward.”

But lately Tree rental research 63% of Americans show that they have strengthened their loyalty to small businesses this year.

Angel Wong, who owns “Four Vedas,” said her clothing store is bringing more to the table.
“It’s kind of personal,” Wong explained. “We all get to know each other.”

A personal touch that promotes connections while giving the coveted financial boost to our valley.
“It’s really important,” Wiarco said. “We support the local community.”

So for those who can’t wait to spend some cash this Saturday, the choice to make a small purchase can make a big difference.

“Everyone who lives here,” Wong concludes. “We want to see them come back to us.”
