Outside the Arlington National Cemetery, new sculptures have been unveiled in honor of military women and military working dogs.
A life-sized bronze sculpture called “The Pledge” is located at the Women In Military Service for America Memorial at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery.
The unveiling ceremony was scheduled for Saturday.
This sculpture shows a female soldier kneeling to meet a working dog.
The sculpture by artist Susan Bahari was commissioned by the National Headquarters of the American War Dog Association.
The Women’s Monument is the only major national monument that honors all women who have defended America throughout its history.
