Bowling Green, Kentucky (WNKY) — An organization is celebrating the return of stolen goods, and responsible officials have revealed that they regret their actions.

Around 2 am last Saturday, an 8-foot tree display promoting United Way’s 211 service in southern Kentucky was stolen by five unknown individuals. As of Tuesday morning, the tree was returned to its legitimate home.

“Dear United Way, I’m sorry at first. This was a very immature decision. I hope I can get it back. I have returned the tree here. I wish you all the best. Thank you. All in all, stupid. “

211 is a 24/7 call center where you can make calls as needed. So Elizabeth Newbold is thrilled to see the trees coming back.

Elizabeth Newbold said on the United Way in southern Kentucky, “We all make stupid decisions in our lives.” To let them change trees at the very end and let people know about 211. I’m glad I decided to change what might have been a sad situation where I had to replace the tree that came back here with a good one. “

On Wednesday morning, the United Way works to bring the tree back to the ground, and they decorate it with lights and ornaments.
