Atlanta (CBS46)-Gasoline prices in Georgia have been stable compared to a week ago. According to AAA, Georgia drivers pay an average price of $ 2.91 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. The price is the same as it was a week ago, 7 cents cheaper than last month. A year ago, the average pandemic price was less than $ 2.00 per gallon.
Filling a 15-gallon petrol tank costs a Georgia driver $ 43.65. This is $ 6.75 more than the amount paid by the driver in January 2020, when pump prices peaked at $ 2.46 per gallon.
“Georgians remain unchanged on the pump, but the national average continues to rise,” said Garrett Townsend, AAA-Auto Club Group Public Relations Director. “As summer travel surges, stock prices are outpacing demand, so American drivers can expect to see fluctuations until the end of the month.”
Since Monday, the national average of 1 gallon of regular gasoline has risen by 2 cents to $ 3.07.
If domestic crude oil prices remain high, US drivers may continue to fluctuate pump prices until the end of the month.
