Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers continue to lead their leagues in all-star voting.
Major League Baseball released an updated tally on Monday. This shows that the judge leads all players with 2,433,088 fan votes. In the National League, Betts has 2,270,566 votes.
Judges and Betts were closely followed in a fan vote in the outfield position. Mike Trout (2,134,471) from the Los Angeles Angels and Ronald Acuña Jr. (2,197,684) from the Atlanta Braves are the only other players to score over 2 million votes.
Currently, three Toronto Blue Jays are leading the AL position vote. Catcher Alejandro Kirk, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., shortstop Bo Bichette. Outfielder George Springer is ranked third in the league’s outfield polls. So he is currently in a position to start alongside judges and trout.
Springer has a lead of about 234,000 votes over Giancarlo Stanton of the Yankees in 4th place.
In the National League, Trea Turner led the vote as a shortstop, making the Dodgers the only team in the league to have two players.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 19th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The first phase of the voting process continues until Thursday at 2:00 pm EST. At this time, the top two voters (and the top six outfielders) in each position in each league will be published on the MLB Network.
The second phase of voting begins following its announcement
The starter will be announced at ESPN on July 8th, and the full roster will be announced on July 10th.
