Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – A man accused of a series of arson is currently in custody, and prosecutors want him to remain in custody until trial.Investigators believe John Ferguson Is responsible for setting up at least four fires around the Old Town, all within 15 minutes, including one at the Old Cafe Laurel. He was detained on the weekend.

According to court documents, Ferguson has been found in several fires near Bosque in recent months. In a motion filed on Monday, prosecutors argue that Ferguson is dangerous to the general public and that there are no conditions for liberation to keep the community safe. A pre-trial detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
