The California Attorney General and several other agencies have announced the seizure of approximately 65,000 marijuana plants from 37 sites in Kern County as part of the California Department of Justice’s annual campaign for marijuana planting.
“Illegal and unlicensed marijuana planting has a negative impact on the health and safety of our environment, economy and communities,” Justice Secretary Rob Bonta said in a news release.
According to Bonta’s office, the CAMP team confiscated 1.2 million illegally grown marijuana plants and over 180,000 pounds of illegally processed marijuana in several counties in California.
